I have been teaching for 17 years. The 2017 school year was the beginning of my 5th year working for the Willow River Area School. Prior to working here, I taught in Cloquet for the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School FACE Program. I spent 7 years teaching in early childhood and 5 years teaching adult education. I completed my studies at the University of Minnesota, Duluth with Minnesota teaching licenses in Early Childhood Special Education (Birth to age 6) and Early Childhood Education (Birth to 3rd Grade.) I have lived in Willow River for over 17 years and truly feel that this is “home.” I often tell the story, that when I first came to visit Willow River in 1997, I told my friend and her family that when I grew up, I was going to live in Willow River. I look back now and am still beyond grateful for that weekend invitation to go “home.” I am honored to be able to work and raise my children in this community. I live with my Husband Scott and our 2 sons, Alex and Adam. Both of our boys attend school in Willow River and are currently in 4th and 3rd grade. We have three dogs, 2 Irish Setters named Marley and Murphy and one English Yellow Lab, Beau. I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and attending my kiddos activities. In my role as Early Childhood Coordinator, Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, and Early Childhood Teacher, I find that my days are quite busy, but very rewarding. I work with an amazing early childhood team, who are willing to provide hands on, play based learning activities, designed to meet each of the kiddos strengths and their needs. I encourage you to contact me to learn more about what our programs have to offer and what opportunities we have available. Building our home and school relationship will help prepare your kiddo for success on their educational journey!
